Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers and superstar LeBron James placed a disappointing 4th in the Pacific Division and 10th in the Western Conference. with a 37-45 record. While that was a minor improvement, the Lakers look to take a much bigger leap forward this season under new coach Frank Vogel and with the addition of another star in Anthony Davis. Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic ended the season in 1st for the Southeast Division, their first division title since 2009-2010, and 7th in the Eastern Conference. Under coach Steve Clifford, the Magic obtained a playoff spot for the first time since the 2011-2012 season but were eliminated by the Toronto Raptors.

Both teams are back for the 2019-2020 season, as the Lakers travel to Orlando to play the Magic at the Amway Center.
