This late season showdown marks the first time these SEC rivals have faced off since 2011. The teams have also previously met twice in the SEC championship game in 2001 and 2007. The 3-time national champion Tigers (1958, 2003, 2007), are headed by Coach Ed Orgeron while Tennessee, headed by Butch Jones, has claimed six national titles.

With a seating capacity of 102,455, Neyland Stadium is the fifth largest stadium in the nation and sixth largest in the world. Seating for the LSU game will be in the upper bowl.
