Weird Al Yankovic
Perhaps best known for his long list of parody songs, Weird Al Yankovic is actually quite the accomplished entertainer. Now, his latest tour, dubbed “The Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour,” is a concert that will show off his other side. The concert series will go light on the costumes, props, elaborately choreographed dance numbers, and the all around showmanship that Yankovic is known for and instead the set list will be largely parody free.
The Yankovic Facebook page posted the following: THIS WILL NOT BE OUR NORMAL KIND OF TOUR. I decided we should try something different, just for a change of pace. So next year we’re scaling way, way back. No costumes, no props, no video screens, no computer servers. We’re just going to walk out on stage, sit down on stools, and play a bunch of old songs. Oh, and we’re going to be performing almost exclusively originals (i.e. not parodies). The deep cuts and obscure tracks. The songs that were never hits. The ones you barely remember.
EVERY SINGLE SHOW WILL BE DIFFERENT. We’re going deep into the catalogue and mixing up the set list every night. This show will be loose, unpredictable, and maybe a little sloppy – we’ll be making it up as we go along.
Oh, one other cool thing… For the first time ever, I’m bringing an opening act with me on the road. I’m very pleased to announce that on every show of the 2018 Tour, I will be sharing the stage with my good friend, the legendary Mr. EMO PHILIPS.

Historic Gillioz Theatre
The restoration of the historic Gillioz Theatre was completed in October 2006, eighty years after the original opening. In its early years, the Gillioz was Springfield’s premier entertainment venue, hosting a number of movie premiers and vaudeville shows. Both the lobby and auditorium have been restored to their original 1926 condition.
With a seating capacity of 595 on Orchestra level and 420 in the Balcony, The Gillioz offers Springfield a perfectly sized venue for many events. The Gillioz Theatre in conjunction with the Jim D. Morris Building serves a plethora of functions including; Broadway productions, theatre, movies, religious gatherings, arts education, dining, rehearsals, school programs, banquets, receptions, concerts, film festivals, weddings, seminars/conventions, and television broadcasts.
